
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) invites applications for its Internship Programme designed to provide students with practical exposure to the functioning of a premier quasi-judicial body dedicated to environmental justice.
🎯 Purpose
The internship offers hands-on learning of the National Green Tribunal Act, 2010 and the NGT (Practices and Procedure) Rules, 2011, alongside opportunities to:
Observe filing, listing, and judicial record management.
Experience case study analysis and court proceedings.
Gain insights into environmental adjudication processes.
📌 Types of Internship
Summer Internship: March, April, May, July
Winter Internship: November, December, January
(Full-time, physical attendance required)
📍 Place of Internship
Interns may choose from:
Principal Bench: New Delhi
Zonal Benches: Pune (Western), Bhopal (Central), Kolkata (Eastern), Chennai (Southern)
✅ Eligibility
Students pursuing Environmental Studies from recognized institutions.
Law students in 3rd year or higher of a five-year programme.
Law students in 2nd year or higher of a three-year programme.

Deadline: One month before commencement of internship.
Late or incomplete applications will not be entertained.

🔎 Selection
Applications will be scrutinized, and offers made subject to availability of slots and approval of the competent authority. Students not selected may re-apply in future cycles.
⏳ Duration
Four weeks, ordinarily starting from the first working day of the internship month.
📋 Key Requirements
Attendance & Supervision: Daily attendance is mandatory; interns will work under supervision of registry officers.
Report Submission: A 1000-word report on internship experience is compulsory. Research papers, if required, remain intellectual property of NGT.
Presentation: On the final day, interns must present a brief overview of their learnings.
Certificate: Awarded on successful completion, subject to full attendance and submission requirements.
Additional Guidelines
Work Timings: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM (subject to change by authority).
Dress Code: Formal black & white attire with blazer (as per official decorum).
Non-Remunerative: Internship is unpaid; expenses for lodging, transport, and food must be borne by interns.
Confidentiality & Integrity: Interns must maintain professional decorum and uphold the integrity of the Tribunal.
Serious Commitment Required: Violations may lead to discontinuation and notification to the student’s institution.
