These courts play a critical role in maintaining industrial harmony, ensuring justice, and fostering a healthy work environment. Under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 labour courts are constituted by state governments to adjudicate disputes referred to them. These courts are primarily concerned with matters specified in the Second Schedule of the Act, including:
The Property or legality of an order passed by an employer.
The application and interpretation of standing
Discharge or dismissal of workwomen.
Legality of strikes and lockouts.
